I used to want to be a marine biologist. This was mostly because I loved ocean life and thought being a marine biologist meant I could swim with the dolphins every day. Doesn’t that sound like a nice job? As I grew up and found out the true lives of marine biologists my aspirations shifted a bit. 🙂
Books have always played an important role in my life and I am lucky to have parents who fueled my love for books and never prohibited me from reading. So it wasn’t a big surprise to anyone that I eventually realized I wanted to be a writer. The idea of writing books for a living floated around my little head for a while, but it wasn’t until I read a little book called Twilight that I knew writing was what I really wanted to do, that it was something I craved.
As my love of reading continued to grow, it led me to reviewing books for Schuler Books and Music. Through that, I have befriended authors, made a blog and have befriended several more authors as well as other book lovers. I started this blog to share my thoughts on books, but most importantly to talk about my writing and my journey to publication.
Well, everyone, I made it. My journey has reached its first destination. It was announced earlier tonight on Twitter, but here it is:
The California based independent publisher, Pendrell Publishing, will be publishing my book, Hunted, sometime next year. You may recognize Pendrell’s name as the publisher behind Lani Woodland’s debut, Intrinsical. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect home for Hunted and I couldn’t be more excited to start working with the Pendrell team.
Before I end this, I wanted to thank all of you for your never-ending support. You have embraced me, my blog, and my writing with open and loving arms and I cannot express how grateful I am for that. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and I look forward to sharing more news as Hunted grows from a Word document to an actual book.
