So, overall, I absolutely loved this book and found it completely stunning! I had high expectations and they were certainly met. It definitely ends with a cliff-hanger and it is ridiculous how happy and excited I am for the final book in the trilogy, Tempest. If you haven’t started reading this series yet you’re making a big mistake!
This review will be fairly short because I want to avoid spoiling anything for those who haven’t read it yet and for those who haven’t even started the series but want to.
As many of you know, there are a lot of books that I go all fanboy over, books with characters that consume my every thought and plots that make me jittery with excitement. Well, Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush, Hush is one of those books. And the newly-released sequel, Crescendo, is no exception.
Becca Fitzpatrick’s writing is still as amazing as it is in Hush, Hush. She has once again woven romance, mystery, and drama into tightly-knit story that is fast-paced, engaging, and all around thrilling. I love how vivid her descriptions are without being over the top and how fluid her writing is in general. Each character in Crescendo plays a part in the story and they are all wonderfully developed. They leave you wanting to know more about them and where the story will take them next.
Of course, what I love most about this series is Nora and Patch. They’re relationship gets a bit rocky in this book—rocky like a mountainside—and will take readers on an emotional, dark, and intense ride, one I wasn’t prepared for and one I haven’t fully recovered from. I’m still amazed that Ms. Fitzpatrick can cause such a response from me and I only hope I can do the same with my stories. I do wish, however, that the rockiness didn’t start right off the bat. I wanted more romantic scenes! Haha.
