Done! For Now…

June 25, 2010
Guess what? I finished writing my first draft last night! And the best part? I still really like this one, maybe even love it! I plan on doing some minor edits/revisions myself and then I’m going to have a few friends critique it before I do major changes. Gah! I’m so excited! My biggest obstacle is upping my word count without adding any more chapters because I have a significant amount of chapters.

In celebration of having finished writing my manuscript, I wanted to share the list of songs I listened to while writing it. For writers, it often fuels them to write and often sets the tone for a certain scene. I used to listen to music while writing, but I found myself trying to find the perfect song more than working on a manuscript. I’m a bit ADD when it comes to music. So, I stopped listening to it while writing. But towards the end of writing my current work-in-progress, I started listening to songs that didn’t necessarily fit with a specified scene, but ones that motivated and inspired me to keep writing.

So, without further ado, here they are:

“November” by Chase Coy
“If the Moon Fell Down” by Chase Coy (ft. Colbie Caillat)

“Black Coffee” by Breanne Duren

“Static Waves” by Andrew Belle (ft. Katie Herzig)

“Unarmed” by Mariah McManus
“The Way You Pick Me Up” by Mariah McManus

“Sleep” (live version) by Imogen Heap

“Pitter Pat” by Erin McCarley

“Sort of” by Ingrid Michaelson

“My Love” by Sia (this one was on repeat towards the end, haha)
