Review: All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill

September 4, 2013

All Our Yesterdays is an utterly engrossing time travel story that will pull readers in with its twists, suspense, and tragedy. Cristin Terrill has written a shining example of how great YA literature can be and she is definitely an author to watch!

While All Our Yesterdays is a time-travel sci-fi story, there is a beautiful level of reality to the story that will draw readers in and play with their emotions. The characters are wonderfully believable, even though they’re all flawed and broken. Each choice they make affects the story as a whole and it’s fascinating to see how it all unfolds. Ms. Terrill throws in plenty of twists to keep readers guessing and she does so in an expert manner. Nothing in the story feels forced or fake. She also has given the story beautiful layers of desperation and longing. While these two emotions may seem heavy, they do not hinder the story and instead raise it to another level.

Overall, All Our Yesterdays is a sophisticated and stunning debut, one that both guys and girls will love, and I can’t wait to read what Cristin Terrill writes next!
